We tell stories that travel.
Not even one single beer we drunk after winning their first deal with an ecolodge. We hadn’t even met eachother in person at all, since we started our new initiative at the start of 2010.
We met online and appeared to have a shared passion for traveling, seeing the same challenge and vision when it come to global tourism. People should be able to experience our world, discover and experience, without compromising to other people and our planet. How to inspire people to choose for responsible travel destinations over non responsible ones? Well.. good stories inspire people. Nevertheless a lot of valuable travelstories remain untold. Such a waste! What if we could tell these stories ourselves, together with likeminded travel enthusiasts. Embedding true storytellers in unique places to discover and carry out unique stories! Wow. We just started making our dream job becoming true.
Bundling our strengths and we added our complementary talents to bring our idea to life. And so a new venture was born. We worked on a virtual base and started off with a range of projects in Costa Rica. No flip chart meetings, but Skype-’huddles’ between Milan, Haarlem, Amsterdam and San Jose, Costa Rica. Updates and huddles via “The Wave” (Wave Google).
After our Caribbean adventure we started focussing also on our home market and so we launched our the first storytelling project in the Netherlands at Fall 2010. We created a world of stories for a modern version of a traditional inn and a series of farmlodges in the rural east.
Recently we shifted our focus from storytelling for lodges towards storytelling for whole areas (provinces, small countries, islands, cities).
Now StoryTravelers is a tribe of likeminds. We agree on doing something about our concern for the tourism related impact on our environment. Nurturing the seed wich we’d like to see expanding in the coming years. We foresee the organic growth of a network of likeminded entrepreneurs with a shared dream. Inspire people for responsible tourism ….by living it
to be continued..
